Utricularia Graminifolia from Asia belongs to the bladderwort family. All the plants in this family are insect eating, perennial water and marsh plants. In nature, the plant lives in nutrient-poor locations, hence the need to catch small insects and digest them.

Bladder traps are a unique feature of this family, which Utricularia Graminifolia forms after a short period in the aquarium. The species name means 'with grass like leaves' and the fresh green leaves will after some time form a pretty mat which looks like a lawn 2-8cm tall. Utricularia Graminifolia is therefore an ideal foreground plant, although it is rather demanding.

Tropica 1-2-Grow Tissue Culture Plants
Small plants with great success. Tropica 1-2-Grow are very young tissue cultivated plants grown in the Tropica laboratory. The plants are guaranteed to be free from snails, algae and pesticides and therefore are totally harmless for sensitive shrimp and fish. The 1-2-Grow range offers a unique range of plants.

Success with your aquarium depends largely on the proper plant choice. Tropica 1-2-Grow plants offer a myriad of plants which can be divided into smaller portions to cover a larger area. Plants are compact from the start so you will experience dense and beautiful growth, if you provide them with the correct fertiliser and CO2 from the start. The range is perfect for small and medium sized aquariums.

Tropica 1-2-Grow Directions

  1. Carefully remove the plant from the cup and rinse off the growing media.
  2. Split the plant as required into 6-8 portions using your fingers or sharp scissors.
  3. Plant portions into the substrate using tweezers. Then watch them grow!
